Journeys of a Lifetime

The Journeys Of a Life-Time are small-group adventures organised by Larry & Juliette Leighton, with the aim of going a step deeper into Moroccan life than ‘normal’ tourism, while still tasting the colour, vibrance and spice that the people there emanate and resound into their environment. The aim is to give each participant the opportunity to dip ‘under the skin’ of what they meet, have sufficient space to breathe this in and digest it.

The idea for our journeys originally flowered from the wish to bring together Biography work (a process of personal discovery and development) and the adventure of travel. We are willing to tailor journeys to particular requests and groups.

Juliette was born in Morocco, having left for France, with her family, in her teens. Each time she returns there she finds a renewed discovery of her people and native culture. Larry brings his intimate relationship to Morocco into this: he first got a nose for leather in Fes, before taking up working with it for a quarter of a century; over the past 9 years he has been trading directly with fine craftsmen there. Add a life-long love of travel, teaching and Adult Learning and you have the ideal hosts.

Our last organised journey was in 2012, the next is likely to be later in 2016. We are always interested in exploring ideas and requests for further Journeys, so if you would like any further information, or to receive news of future Journeys, please contact us with your details.
